What’s In Store: Mobile Work Week, December 5-9
We hope you’ve heard the good news around town: Mobile Work Week is debuting in the Bay Area next week, December 5-9.
We’ve had a inpouring of interest and want to share our thinking behind the week along with a few previews of the programming we have in store.
Why rally around a whole week?
The sharing economy has arrived, and it’s not just changing the way you book hotels, or call cabs. It’s also changing the way you do your job everyday.
We’re here to champion this new modality of getting things done. The movement’s not just for freelancers, consultants and sole proprietors. Now and increasingly in the future, salespeople, developers, entrepreneurs and even executives all over the world, want and will want a better way or working – whether they work for themselves or a global enterprise.
Whole corporations and governments will move towards a multi-modal, real-time notion of work and workspace too. Large corporations are already shedding cumbersome leases and using services like ours to find great places to do business no matter where they are, or when.
Over the course of the week, we’ll explore everything good, bad and otherwise around today’s mobile worker. There’s indeed a better way, and we’re here to bring it to life, collectively.
-No more getting to the airport 3 hours early.
-No more hotel squatting, and no more sitting on floors.
-Real estate (inside and out) that works for us.
-And so on…
The internet has changed many industries for the better, and workspace is no different.
Why the Bay Area?
Because we’ve achieved critical mass there, from San Francisco to San Jose. We’ve focused on this market from the very beginning, and the community has responded. We have over 50 venues in the Bay Area (click here to see our locations around the world). We have over 11,000 members and have been successful in connecting tons of people with great spaces to work.
We’re very thankful. And Mobile Work Week is just as much a love letter to the Bay Area as it is an effort to get some new people off the sidelines and into the game.
What’s the schedule?
Each night there will be a unique event where everyone can come together to meet, greet, learn a little, and live a little. Keep an eye out for cool and unique temporary workspaces that will pop up in our system. We’ll have some special guests along the way too. You can see a bit of what’s in store here, but we’re regularly updating the agenda and speaker list, so check back often!
And finally, in celebration of Mobile Work Week, we’re offering an immediate 50% discount off the listed rental fee when you book new LiquidSpaces for an hour up to a day. You can find out more details here.
It’s going to be a lot of fun, and I invite you to join us.
Don’t live in the Bay Area?
Don’t fret — we’ll be hosting Mobile Work Weeks in cities around the country over the next year, looking to spur adoption and celebrate with you. If you’re interested in helping host a Week in your city, just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll start conspiring.
This is the beginning of a movement, and the fulfillment of an idea whose time has come. We can tell that we’re near a tipping point, and Mobile Work Week is just the opening salvo.
And to those of you already liquidspacing in geographies that literally range from Seattle to Singapore, thanks for your support thus far. We sincerely appreciate it. And we’ll be in your neck of the woods soon!
