Meet Jamie Lewis, LiquidSpace’s East Coast Business Development Manager
Our Meet the Team series continues! Today we’re headed to NYC to introduce you to Jamie Lewis, who heads up business development for LiquidSpace on the East Coast.
Where are you from?
I was born in Oceanside, California, raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania and have called NYC home for the past 10 years. That is why this New Yorker has a “sweet” side!
What brought you to LiquidSpace?
I was running the Business Development team at Zipcar when I got a call from LiquidSpace. Once I spoke with six team members about what LiquidSpace was doing and where they were going, there was no question about joining the team!
Can you tell everyone about your role?
I work with our venue partners – helping them join our community and maintaining a relationship, but I have my hands in everything. You will find me giving a presentation at a local WANY meeting, running our booth at the Global Workspace Association or at GCUC and giving my two cents to our product or PR teams.
How many workspaces do you visit in a typical week?
I can’t keep count! The best feeling is visiting a new venue and having the best end to end experience!
What’s your favorite amenity in a workspace?
The chair! I can’t sit in a bad chair all day long!! I work too hard not to be comfortable. Fortunately I have yet to find a bad chair in NYC! If I could choose two amenities, the kitchen is my second fave.
What stands out to you about coworking in NYC?
The venue owners here have done a fantastic job of maintaining a community feel. You are able to interact with new people all the time. I am actually sitting next to a gentleman in from London to attend a conference as I write this. You see people going from office to office to say hello or to get advice on a project. Even offering to pick up someone’s lunch for them. It’s a whole community.
What has been your most memorable experience since you joined LiquidSpace?
Our pop up HQ gatherings are an incredible experience. The most memorable for me was our pop up in Mark’s hometown, and the birthplace of LiquidSpace, in beautiful Sun Valley. It was the best team building week any company could ask for. I did things on that trip I had never done before such as white water rafting and then the next morning I jumped off a mountain and went paragliding. I would have never done these things without the encouragement of my team members.
