Infographic: Busting the Myths about Telecommuting
I wanted to share this infographic because it lays out the key benefits for companies and employees who have implemented telecommuting strategies. If you’re thinking about taking your work home a few days a week, then these are some must-have statistics to share with your boss.
Working from home is not for everyone or every job, but for those who make a good fit, there are some great advantages:
“If those with jobs compatible with telecommuting and a desire to work from home did so even half the time, the national savings would eclipse $700 billion a year.” That’s $11,000 in savings per business, per person, per year. And an additional $2,000 to $7,000 in savings for the worker.
The reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from teleworking half time would be equivalent to taking the entire workforce of New York state off the road! The amount of oil saved would equal more than 37% of American imports from the Persian Gulf.
Be sure to scroll down to the myth-buster section. There’s great stuff in there for making your case for working from home.
